On November 9, 2003, 1:13 AM Greenwich Time (UT), there will be a eclipse of the full moon (Time Zones). Another rare and special astrological event will occur on November 8-9. At 8:13 pm EST, a geometrically perfect six-sided "Star of David" configuration will appear in the sky. This horoscope chart was first discovered by John Mirehiel on August 28, 1998 (also 249th birthday of Goethe). Unknown to Mirehiel at the time, a magnetar 26,000 light years away from SGR 1900+14 had imploded on August 27, 1998. It was intense enough to strongly ionize the Earth's outer atmosphere, affecting radio communications. What amazed Mirehiel was the Grand Sextile pattern among the planets on his computer screen generated by his Astrolog V.5.3 program. A grand trine was formed by Saturn, Sun, Mars. Another grand trine was formed by Jupiter, Moon, and Chiron (51-year orbiting comet between Saturn & Uranus). Together they formed a perfect "Star of David". Because of the full lunar eclipse on this date, this fortuitous planetary alignment may create some harmonic vibration in the solar system— hence the term "Harmonic Concordance" was coined for this special event. According to Ellie Crystal, it will "produce a powerful alchemical transformation offering the opportunity for both personal and planetary shifts in consciousness." Isabelle Ghaneh sees this as "a time to grow a garden of peace and inner contentment for yourself." However, astronomer Philip Plait calls "harmonic concordance" as bad astronomy. While the Washington Post has a news story on the "Harmonic Concordance", the New York Times has none, perhaps deeming the news not fit to print. Meditation for inner peace will always be beneficial whether there is a propitious pattern in the sky. Here's a story I heard from the Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn Nim at the Cambridge Zen Center (circa 1975)— "Buddha Is Grass Shoes".
