Fourth Birthday Poem
for grandniece Sophia |
|
I'm looking over a four-leaf clover and a poppy on the cliffs of Dover. |
A tetrahedron has four faces. In baseball there are four bases. |
Violin and cello have four strings and a honeybee has four wings. |
Four legs in a table and chair. Four elements: water, earth, fire, air. |
Four croquet balls red, blue, yellow, & black. Four elephants support Earth on a tortoise's back. |
Four chambers pumping blood in your heart. Four Seasons you'll find in music and art. |
Every square has four sides. Let the Four Books be your guides. |
Four bases in spiral DNA. Wishing you a Happy 4th Birthday! |
