Preface: For Song #14, I've selected a song "As Time Goes By" from one of my favorite films Casablanca (1942). The song was first written by Herman Hupfield in 1932 (lyrics). It became most famous when it was sung by the character Sam, portrayed by Dooley Wilson, in the 1942 film, Casablanca. The song was voted No. 2 on the AFI's "100 Years...100 Songs" special, commemorating the best songs in film (surpassed only by "Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland). This song was Rick (Humphrey Bogart) & Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) favorite, played by Sam (Dooley Wilson) when they were in love in Paris. When the German Nazis took over Paris, Rick & Ilsa was going to leave, but her freedom-resistance leader husband Laslo was found alive. So she didn't leave with Rick. This film clip shows Rick's remorse over their love.
