Preface: For Song #34, I've selected "We Are The Champions" sang by Freddie Mercury (1977). This song by the British rock band Queen, was released from their sixth album News of the World (1977). Written by lead singer Freddie Mercury, it remains among rock's most recognisable anthems. Song was a worldwide success, reaching number 2 in UK Singles Chart, number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, number 3 in Canada and top 10 in many other countries. In 2009 it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was voted the world's favourite song in a 2005 Sony Ericsson world music poll. In 2011, a team of scientific researchers concluded the song was the catchiest in history of popular music. (Lyrics). On July 13, 1985, Live Aid Performance, at London's packed Wembley Stadium, at 6:41 pm, Freddie Mercury stepped out in front of 70,000 people— plus hundreds of millions watching on TV— & delivered 20-minute performance for the ages. It topped other superstars that day, David Bowie, Elton John, and Paul McCartney.

[Verse 1]
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through (and I mean to go on and on and on and on)

[Chorus]
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
Of the world

[Verse 2]
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose (and I mean to go on and on and on and on)

[Chorus]
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
Of the world

[Outro Chorus]
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end, oh
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
