What Is Value?

After compiling a list of
the world's most valuable items,
recalled what the Dalai Lama
told Stanford students in 2010.

Follow these five virtues
for success in school and life—
Forgiveness, Patience, Tolerance,
Compassion, and Self-Discipline.

These virtues are also the values
we hold dear, priceless treasures
bringing us calm & peace that
passes all understanding.

Another value is kindness—
Helping others in need as
if you have angelic wings
giving warmth to receivers.

Trust is a value essential
for lovers— Dante's love
for Beatrice made him journey
through Hell ascending to Paradise.

The Book of Proverbs tells us
to find wisdom & understanding
for they are more precious than
rubies, silver and gold.

Ways of wisdom are pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
A Swiss sage blessed me—
"May peace be with you."

In Einstein's last interview,
he advised a Harvard student—
"Try not to become a man of sucesss,
but rather try to become a man of value.

He is considered successful who
gets more than what he puts in,
but a man of value gives
more than he receives."
