Collecting QE II Postage Stamps

It was my first triangle stamp—
a semi-postal from New Zealand
showing a young Princess Elizabeth.

Due to her long 70-years reign,
her portrait appeared on postage stamps
more than any person, plant, or animal.

Bought a lot of New Zealand stamps
at auction with half a sheet of stamps
showing centered design of the Queen.

QEII's Canadian State Visit in 1964
shows her with regal shoulder band
and three rows of pearl necklace.

Cook Island's 1973 stamp shows
the Queen in full regalia—
crown, sceptre, and orb.

Bought 1961 St. Helena's £ stamp
in set of 14 for $12 in 1975 showing
her as mother to baby Prince Andrew.

I like her Coronation issue, and stamps
with poets Robert Burns & John Keats,
splendid oak and horse chestnut trees.
