Strawberry Moon over Stonehenge

Strawberry Moon, York, Maine

Native Americans call June's
Full Moon "Strawberry Moon"—
last of Spring, first of Summer.

Haida say it's "Berries Ripen Moon",
Europeans call it "Honey Moon"
as more couples marry in June.

A bowl of fresh strawberries
in front of a girl, but her mind
is pondering on something else—

could it be Lois Lenski's 1945
book "Strawberry Girl" on a girl
growing strawberries in Florida?

or this year's Super Moon
in June since it is coming
closest to the Earth?

perhaps she read the trivia
in Quaker Oatmeal box that
a strawberry has 200 seeds?

or Goethe saying "Only birds
and children know what
strawberries taste like."?

I show her strawberries stamps
from U.S. & San Marino— will
trade them for her strawberries.

She says "I'll think it over
but my mind is hovering with
Strawberry Moon at Stonehenge."
