Moonrise & Sunset

Joseph Campbell was out at sea—
saw sunset & moonrise at same time
and could not tell the difference
between the two orbs— amazing!

Ann sent a photo of "Shanghai Sunset"
on Double-Ten Day in 2013 full of fog,
reminding me of Ansel Adam's "Moonrise,
Hernandez, New Mexico" (Nov. 1, 1941).

Here they are— side by side,
reflecting nature's beauty—
take a pause, breathe it all in,
feel like dancing the Sufi Spin.

Yin and Yang are balanced
as day yields to night while
the Sun equals Moon's light—
fading its brightness from noon.

Today's show in the Saturday sky—
annular eclipse as Moon covers Sun
after sunrise in the east— a feast for
the eyes— ring of fire! heavenly kiss!
