Chocolate Easter Bunny

Preface: Sally Forth is a comic strip created by Greg Howard in 1982, focusing on the life of a mother at home and work. Howard, after almost ten years, was joined by Craig MacIntosh, who began doing the drawing. In 1999, Howard quit writing as well and turned the strip over to Francesco Marciuliano. Today, Sally Forth appears in nearly 900 newspapers— some as far away as Iceland. The main character Sally is a 40-years old mid-level human resource manager with a husband Ted Forth and 12-year old daughter Hilary. Sally's name is a play on words— "to sally forth" means to set out on an adventure. Sally's adventure at Easter time is biting off the ears of her daughter's chocolate bunnies. Hilary annually schemes to hide her bunny, but inevitably fails. Thanks to the Sally Forth Archive, here are the Easter comic strips 2004-2010 reformatted in Photoshop. It prompted me to contemplate on the Easter Bunny which inspired this poem.
