In My Dream the Great One Married Me

In my dream the Great One married me.
In the beginning there was total
chaos after the Big Bang, no one knew

what was going on, particles flying
everywhere— I, a tiny electron
ignored by everyone, so I prayed hard.

Then a proton, 2000 times larger,
suddenly came to me. He was so big—
He was the Great One that married me!

Seven-minutes poetry writing exercise
that Robert Bly gave to Stanford class
in his Workshop, starting with the line:
"It's a strange strange world, brother" or
"In my dream the Great One married me"
