I sit at the computer too much— writing haikus every day inspired by music, films, poetry, and interesting readings. My friends have tried to get me away from the computers and explore nature more. Here are some hikes from 2014 in the Bay Area, many taken when Foothill Computer Labs were closed. I've added photos of interesting trees while walking around in my neighborhood. These excursions have inspired three tree poems— "Four Friends on Montebello Ave" (July 13), "A Pepper Tree Stops Me Cold" (July 20), and "Bamboos for Blessings" (July 30). (Peter Y.
