Capricorn

Monica Beisner, Capricorn Leaps from Winter to Spring (1978)

WILD SPIRIT SOARS AT MOONRISE

The mountains leap like rams and angels
light up with joy— the new world is here.
Thunder, thunder— for a hundred miles
the light does not fade. Mysterious virtue
knocks on my door: "Sincerity precedes
fortune and felicity." Awake, awake—
joy & gladness in my wilderness garden,
my bones, my heart and spirit all on fire,
five fingers and one hand— just perfect!
The last word— absolutely beyond telling—
noon & midnight, face to face with desire
snow on the thousand peaks. We're home
again— daisies & birds flutter down to that
great courageous place we have never seen!
