"Immersed in nature at Shell Ridge"
(By Joan Morris, Mercury News, 3-6-2022, F8)
has 25 photos by Jose Carlos Fajardo
taken on hikes at Walnut Creek's
Shell Ridge (2021-2022).

I cropped the first photo
showing a couple walking
their dog on the Shell Ridge
Trail to show just the Sun's rays
streaming through the tree's branches.

6. Text on Source of Images—
Photos by Jose Carlos Fajardo

There were 25 photos taken by Jose Carlos Fajardo in
the Sunday article "Immersed in nature at Shell Ridge"
by Joan Morris, Mercury News, 3-6-2022, F8.
I selected 8 photographs most appealing to me
and resized them for a poem "Shell Ridge Hike".

7. Poem "Shell Ridge Hike"—

Notes on Poem—
After reading the article
"Immersed in nature"
by Joan Morris, studied
the 25 hike photos by
Jose Carlos Fajardo
taken at Walnut Creek's
Shell Ridge (2021-2022).

Selected 8 photos and
wrote 17-syllables
Japanese haikus for
each of the photos.

While some photos
were taken Feb. 2022
in winter, showing the
millipede all curled up,
and poppies closed, the
images of Red-Tailed Hawk
soaring above and a radiant
Queen Poppy shining below
tells me "Spring is coming!"

Took screen shots of poem,
Pasted two sections together in
Photoshop (700x1400 pixels).

8. Slides from Other Sites—
Photos from Shell Ridge Trails
Here are two photos at Walnut Creek's Shell Ridge Trails found from Google Images—
