AN ENLIGHTENED STORY

Tell me an enlightened story—
Descartes' dream and Pascal's vision
floated to my mind last night
hear the bells that make the stars twinkle

Descartes' dream and Pascal's vision
Fire, fire, fire— mind ablaze in fire
hear the bells that make the stars twinkle
as snowflakes dance with the West Wind

Fire, fire, fire— mind ablaze in fire
Whirlwind sweeps me to the town square
as snowflakes dance with the West Wind
The sage shows me his secret book

Whirlwind sweeps me to the town square
The maiden hands me a melon
The sage shows me his secret book
and I awake to know who I am

The maiden hands me a melon
Suddenly I'm back in the Garden
and I awake to know who I am—
this infinite eternal Self

Suddenly I'm back in the Garden
Tell me an enlightened story—
this infinite eternal Self
floated to my mind last night.
