Preface: I came to the Stanford campus to take photos of Bronze Plaques at Memorial Quad for Cathy's and Elisa's birthdays. My last visit here was Feb. 4, 2020 and the campus was closed to outsiders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise my last time at Foothill College Los Altos Hills campus was March 14, 2020. Mercury News reported triple-digit temperature, and Ann told me it was 100^o F at Barron Park near where she lives. Luckily I left my heavy denim jacket home, since I was going to walk around the campus, as I had no Nature Walks after 2019. Decided to visit the sites where I had much inspirations at Stanford. Was disappointed that Cummings Art Building is gone (2015), in its place Hoover Institution David & Joan Traitel Building (2017). Did a lot of creative work at Cummings Art Library. first researching on Dürer's "Melencolia I" when I arrived in Palo Alto in May 1985. Then using their Mac to type my poems and Stanford lectures. Also auditing Prof. Scott Bukatman's film classes. The dying Mulberry Tree in Memorial Church Quad was uprooted and gone. Tresidder Student Union Computer Room that was open 24/7 is now closed, and the building was locked when
I tried to use their restroom (6:30 pm). Lucky I found the nearby Pizza Tree House that had a restroom (6:43 pm). Was real lucky that Stanford Sheriff Marlo Banda saw me sitting at the Oval Bus Stop for the "nightly N Bus" (9:05-9:45 pm) that never came. He gave me a ride to the Train Depot to catch Express Bus #522 just in time (9:56 pm) which connected with the last 10:15 pm Bus #40 that came 5 minutes early at Showers Drive. I ran across red lights at El Camino to catch it. Below are 16 vertical photos and 57 horizontal photos of my 5-hours adventurous walk around the Stanford campus. Since it was a hot day, I took 5 photos of fountains— Hoover Fountain, Green Library Fountain, Red π-Fountain with water, Stanford Bookstore Fountain & Old Union Fountain without water flowing.
