Preface: Cuesta Park brings fond memories. My friend Cathy and I came here for the first time on Saturday in November 2000. We had a small picnic under a giant oak. Cathy got on the swing, and while swaying to and fro, recited Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Swing" from A Child's Garden of Verses (1885). We walked several miles around Mountain View & Los Altos for four hours instead of taking the bus home. Cuesta Park Squirrels: Squirrels attacked children 20 times (May 2006-March 2007) taking away their food and scratching their faces. "Squirrel Attacks Occur Again in Mountain View Park" (Free Republic, 2-23-2007); "Squirrels fight back" (Mountain View Voice, 3-2-2007). Nature Walks: Last year on Martin Luther King's Holiday (Monday, January 20, 2014), when the computer facilities were closed, my friend took me for a hike at Guadalupe River Trail in San Jose. This year's MLK Holiday was on Monday, January 19, 2015. After shopping at Safeway & Walgreens, my friend took me to Cuesta Park in Mountain View. I took a slow 40-minutes walk clockwise around Cuesta Park (4:16-4:57 pm). Below are 27 photos taken on this occasion— my first Nature Walk of 2015.
