| Preface: On Sunday, November 3, 2019, Al Guzman picked me up at 8:00 am at my apartment, and drove to Century Cinema 16 (1500 N. Shoreline Blvd) to see Joker, directed by Todd Phillips, and starring Joaquin Phoenix. We arrived at 8:30 am, but the Theatre was not open until 9:00 am, so we took a short walk to the Computer History Museum (1401 N. Shoreline Blvd) and the nearby Microsoft Campus (1065 La Avenida St.). The movie was quite violent which neither of us enjoyed. After the movie, Al surprised me going to Dinah Garden Hotel (4261 El Camino Real), a restaurant with lovely ambience. We waited half-hour to be seated outside under a shady tree near the entrance; He treated me, telling me to pay usual $10 fare at Sweet Tomatoes. Had Pacific Omelette with smoked salmon, hashed brown potatoes, buttered whole wheat toast, and a glass of milk. After lunch, Al dropped me off at Los Altos Library, where I worked 3 hours on my LINC62 assignment (1:45-4:45 pm). Bus #40 comes at 5:16 pm; Just like 10/20, 100+ cars passed by without picking me up hitchhiking until Steve stopped & drove to Showers Drive for Bus 522. Hitchhiking is a cosmic affair— Need a kind soul to pick you up; Promise wisdom to those who do: Surprise!— Karen picked me up at 5:10 pm. Caught Bus #522 and arrived on time at Stanford Theatre to see "Werewolves of London" and "The Invisible Man". Took photos of the marquee, window displays, & photos in the Memorobilia Room.
