Preface:
On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Al Guzman drove from San Jose
to pick me up at my Mountain View apartment at 7:00 am. He then drove to Livermore to visit Robert Slack. We came here last time on November 10, 2018, where we went for breakfast at Hometown Buffet in Hayward. Then a surprise trip to San Francisco by the Ferry Building to see my Poetry Plaque. This time we had breakfast at International House of Pancakes IHOP (4567 First St., Livermore), where Al treated all of us. I selected Veggie Spinach & Mushroom Omelet with pancakes, strawberry syrup & milk. We had an hour before movie "Alita" starts. Robert Slack guides us on hour walk down First Street where they broadcast runners crossing finishing line of Half-Marathon Race. Memorable scenes today: Cows on hill on way to Livermore, Bull grazing all alone. Evergreen "Christmas" tree with natural 5-star on top, & Thomas Coyne Winery. Took photos of murals along the street. Mural honoring Livermore Firefighters, Vineyard Mural by Victoria Miraglio, and Taj Mahal Mural near the plaza fountain. At 11:20 am, went to Livermore 13 Cinema (2490 First Street) to see "Alita: Battle Angel" directed by Robert Rodriguez, starring Rosa Salazar. She plays Cyborg Alita learning about her past after awakening in a new body with no memory of who she is. Below are 37 photos of our wonderful time together. |
