| Preface: Since I'm not hiking much these days, rounded up some photos of my neighborhood walks while taking Bus #40 daily to Foothill College from Mountain View to Los Altos Hills. Many of these photos have triggered poems while walking (links below photo). After Waverley Writers Poetry Reading (May 5, 2017), Anne Cheilek gave me a ride home. She told me PG&E will cut down two Canary Islands Palms at the corner of Montecito and Sierra Vista Ave. Took photos of them (6-13-2017) before one of the Palms was chopped down. "Yellow-Veined Leaf Sings" (10-3-2017) was inspired waiting for Bus #40 at Jane Lane. The Redwood across Hackett Ave triggered "Seeing the Soul Everywhere" (8-21-2017). Construction across the street brought "Turning Negative Noise to Something Positive" (10-9-2017). Lambda Λ image in the Pepper Tree at Avalon Towers inspired "The Soul Must Remain Hidden" (11-11-2014). "The Three Graces on Montebello Ave" was inspired by trees that I pass by daily. "Neighborhood License Plates" was composed by deciphering the three letters of California license plates during my walks. Finally "Montecitohenge" was inspired by the Sun blazing down Montecito Ave around 8 pm in July that reminded me of Stonehenge and Manhattanhenge. |
