25th Avenue San Mateo

Preface: On December 13, 2007, the 7th anniversary of Dad's passing to the other shore, a bumble bee flew to my nose before I boarded Bus #35 at Showers Drive in Mountain View. Legend has it that the souls of departed loved ones come to us as winged creatures. So this December 11, 2018, near the 18th anniversary of Dad's passing, a bluebird tweeted to me before I boarded Bus #34. I took out my camera and snapped three quick photos below. On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, my cousin Scott Chou from Fremont came to pick me up, inviting me to Little Shanghai Restaurant (17 East 25th Ave) with good food from a Shanghai chef. We came here last year on December 30 on our way to Skylawn Memorial Park, to visit the gravesite of Dad & Mom, and Scott's Mom gravesite. Placed a giant pine cone by Dad & Mom's gravestone, and read my poems "Seeing the Soul Everywhere" and "A Dream of Philosophical Beauty". Photos from Scott's car at Half-Moon Bay, Crystal Spring Reservoir on our way home came out surprisingly very misty and meditative, celebrating our trip on this day in honor of our ancestors.
