| Preface: On Monday, January 17, 2017, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Day, Foothill College Computer Labs were closed. Los Altos Library and Mountain View Senior Center were also closed. Without access to computers, my friend Connie would take me hiking. We went to the Gaudeloupe River Trail in San Jose (January 20, 2014). She took me to Cuesta Park, Mountain View, on MLK Holidays (January 19, 2015 and January 18, 2016). Since Connie passed away on September 9, 2016, I decided to honor her by hiking again on this holiday. The closest site is Rengstorff Park, so I put on my little backpack with bottled water. No need to take my walking stick since there are no hills to climb. Boarded the 3:41 pm Bus #40 at Montecito Ave & Rengstorff Ave and got off two stops later at Rengstorff Park. I usually walk through this Park to Mountain View Senior Center to use Tech Room Computers or see their free movies. Today, I took a leisurely walk and took 39 photos of trees and children playgrounds. Walked home via Central Expressway instead of taking Bus #40 home. |
