| Preface: The Palo Alto Historical Association held their public meeting on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 2 pm at Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Their guest speaker, John Henry McClenahan, Vice President of S.P. McClenahan, gave a slide lecture "Let's Talk Tree". McClenahan is a fourth-generation arborist with the company founded by his great grandfather in 1911. His informative talk included photos about their arboricultural firm stories, tree health issues and challenges, and tree pruning practices. Below are photos from his slide presentation and blossoming trees in Lucie Stern Community Center. Afterwards, my friend and I went to the Palo Alto VA Hospital (3801 Miranda Avenue) and visited Rudy who had gall bladder surgery on April 2. We walked Rudy around all three floors of the hospital while viewing the artworks on the walls of the hallways. The Chapel on the first floor still had Easter lilies and we sat awhile for prayers. |
